Michaelann Martin is blissfully married to Curtis Martin, the founder and CEO of The Fellowship of Catholic University Students, FOCUS, where Michaelann serves as the Director of Women’s Formation. They have nine children and five grandchildren so far and currently live in Denver, Colorado.

God of all creation, all the elements belong to you.
The earth, air, water and fire are yours to command.
You guarded your people Israel by night with a pillar of flame.
You sanctified the early church with tongues of fire at Pentecost.
You appeared to Moses in the burning bush, which was engulfed but not consumed.
God of wind and flame, extinguish the fires engulfing land, communities, and homes.
Guard those who must flee because of the blaze, give them safety and wholeness.
Bring those who have perished home to you, grant them your perpetual peace. Protect those who battle the flames, sanctify their service and send them your Spirit.
Restore our land, our homes, our faith in your goodness, and show us again how you bring life out of ash and dust.
Give us the resources and strength, we ask,to rebuild and replant and show us that you are the loving Creator and Savior.

Women’s Adoration & Fellowship meets this Friday, March 11th! At Saint Mary’s in Spokane Valley!

Adoration & confession: 6-7 pm
(Mass is at 5:30 if you’d like to attend)

Women’s Fellowship: 7-9 pm (we have the space reserved in their adult center)

DAY 9 LITANY OF TRUST novena
On this final day of our novena, it feels like the grand finale of a fireworks show, but in this case, we're declaring over ourselves our truest identity in Jesus. May we remember these words often and speak them to ourselves because this is what the Father spoke over us at our baptism and we can TRUST HIM. #newwine #litanyoftrust

There is great power in the grace to forgive that Jesus teaches us from the cross when he begs his father to "forgive them for they know not what they do." What a grace to be able to receive the forgiveness Jesus offers me from the cross, and united with Him, forgive others. Whenever I pray the Lord's prayer and say, "forgive us our trespasses as we forgive others who trespass against us," the very next line is the petition that the Lord "deliver us from evil." I've come to consider the evil in my own heart as grasping again at shame and resentment, that is, not accepting my own forgiveness and also not forgiving others. So, I ask for GRACE. Not that I have the strength to do it on my own, but JESUS, I TRUST IN YOU to give me the strength and grace I need for what is asked. Problem is, it's hard to remember when I'm deceived to believe I'm alone and forgotten, but this is NOT TRUE. Look to the cross and know that Jesus meets us personally right there. Do you have a crucifix hanging where you can look at it to remind you of this truth? You are not alone in your physical ailments, your splintered relationships, false accusations, devastating loss, or any other difficulty. Not only are you not alone, but you have a choice to make of what to do with the inevitable pain of life. By grace, when even the smallest pain is united with Christ's, it bears fruit for eternity but my fear of pain holds me back from freely giving it. This brings me right back to the place where I need, I groan, I cry out brokenhearted, and the LORD is near. Stealing even more joy is when I grumble and complain about the people around me when they do "that thing" again and again. Maybe we just go on to pray, "deliver us from evil" and that the evil we are to be delivered from is resentment and the noise of life that keeps us from taking the time to give all these burdens to the Lord who hears and comforts me when I trust.
