Claire Dwyer is a writer, speaker, retreat leader, and spiritual director who lives in Phoenix, AZ. It is her great privilege to invite women to discover their exquisitely unique design and unrepeatable story so they can better discern God’s purpose for their lives, become more fully themselves, and make a whole-hearted yes to all the right things.

Music minister

Marie Miller is a folk/pop singer/songwriter and recording artist from Virginia. She is a multi-faceted artist and speaker who weaves music, humor, and storytelling to convey God’s love for us and our opportunity to share that love with others. At seventeen Marie was signed by Curb Records where she recorded the #1 Christian song, “You’re Not Alone” and had songs featured in movies and television shows.

Why is it sometimes when we talk to the Lord we find ourselves just asking for things from Him? Whether that be an answer to a certain decision we have to make, finding a job, healing of an ill parent, or even patience to get through the day.

He is always listening and hearing the burdens that weigh so heavily on your heart. He is sitting with you, even when you feel as if you are alone. Talk to Him, for he wants you to share with Him, not just what troubles you, but also what you rejoice in.

It’s been such a blessing in preparation for Wholehearted26 to sit with the theme, the question, “whom do you seek?” The question implies that we are seeking. It also implies that we’re seeking not something but someone. Again and again, God’s word urges us to turn our seeking eyes to Him; His justice, His humility. In so doing, we will be blessed. In preparation for our gathering, read and meditate with our scripture, John 20:11-18. Whom do you seek?

I thank God for the doctor of the Church, St. Francis de Sales, who taught normal people the normal way to meditate and pray.🙏🏼 I’ve learned so much from him how to be friends with Jesus! I hope you do too!!
“Since prayer places our mind in the brilliant radiance of the divine light and warms our will with the heat of heavenly love, there is nothing that so effectively purifies our mind from its ignorance or our will from its depraved attachments as does prayer. It is the water 💦 of heavenly blessing making our good desires grow green and strong🌱, washing our souls from their imperfections, and quenching our passions’ thirst. However, above all else, I recommend mental prayer, in particular, that which has our Lord’s life and Passion as its object.✝️ By frequently meditating on Christ, your whole soul will be filled with him, teaching you his ways and framing all your actions upon his divine model. He is the Light of the world. 💡Therefore, we must allow ourselves to be enlightened and illuminated in him, through him, and for him. He is the tree of desire, under whose shadow we must refresh ourselves (Sgs 2:3). He is the living well of Jacob, in which we wash away what stains us. Yes, as little children 👶🏼learn how to speak by listening to their mothers and practicing by babbling with them, so too, by remaining close to our Savior through meditation and observing his words, deeds, and affections, we shall by his grace learn how to speak, act, and will like him….”

“This is the birth that creation awaits….To hope is to generate. To hope is to see this world become God’s world: the world in which God, human beings and all creatures walk together again, in the garden city, the new Jerusalem. May Mary, our hope, always accompany our pilgrimage of faith and hope.”

I can hardly believe that Christmas day is less than a week away. The waiting and the rushing isn't always in balance, but there's still time. Some of us have been praying along with the @blessedisshe Advent devotional written by Claire Dwyer. She says of the Advent wait, "God allowed countless years to pass in preparation and loving pursuit before He sent His son. He allowed the ache and the hope to grow generation after generation, so that there would be the capacity to receive him. Yet at the moment of Mary’s yes the Holy Spirit moved swiftly, in an instant. The fullness of time had arrived." (p. 40, “In Time” BIS Advent devotional)

Our keynote speaker Michaelann Martin gave us tools for discipleship along with stories from her journey. We spent some time with the LORD in adoration and with each other in fellowship. There were plenty of deep discussions and friendships strengthened along with plenty of babies to snuggle. Thanks for showing up and and letting your light shine! ✨

God of all creation, all the elements belong to you.
The earth, air, water and fire are yours to command.
You guarded your people Israel by night with a pillar of flame.
You sanctified the early church with tongues of fire at Pentecost.
You appeared to Moses in the burning bush, which was engulfed but not consumed.
God of wind and flame, extinguish the fires engulfing land, communities, and homes.
Guard those who must flee because of the blaze, give them safety and wholeness.
Bring those who have perished home to you, grant them your perpetual peace. Protect those who battle the flames, sanctify their service and send them your Spirit.
Restore our land, our homes, our faith in your goodness, and show us again how you bring life out of ash and dust.
Give us the resources and strength, we ask,to rebuild and replant and show us that you are the loving Creator and Savior.
Amen
